To the folks at Acuhealth Acupuncture & Herbal Medicine:
I want to take some time to thank you folks for the help that you've provided me.
As with most people, I had approached the idea of acupuncture with some trepidation and a great deal of ignorance. I had assumed that the methodology was based wholly on the human nervous system and therefore would necessarily involve pain.
A few years ago I decided to follow through with the treatments anyway, since I was already in considerable pain from a herniated disc that I had acquired from my past in the construction industry. “How much worse could it be?” I thought. Traditional western medical options were limited, and as I was unable to do almost anything besides hobble around, my quality of life was quickly dissipating.
At the first treatment at Acuhealth I found out that my pre-conceived notions were completely wrong. There was virtually no pain involved. On the contrary, I actually enjoyed the feelings of calm and relaxation during (and after) the treatment. After that one treatment I was rejuvenated enough that only two weeks later I was able to re-roof my garage–carrying every bundle of shingles up the ladder myself. What a difference!
I have since had treatments for all sorts of maladies including allergies, muscle problems, & headaches, and have always found relief in your relaxing, calming environment and professional approach. I know now that the Asian approach to seeing the body as a complete system rather than a collection of individual systems is in many cases a more accurate way of diagnosing a problem and solving it than traditional western methods.
You folks have made a believer out of me. I heartily encourage anyone that is suffering from a condition to consider acupuncture treatment at Acuhealth. I have not been disappointed.
Thanks again for the relief you've given me!
Sincerely,
Bill Masson

I just wanted to take a moment to share with you the positive results from the two recent acupuncture treatments you did for me. You may recall I had injured my left arm when I assembled a piece of do-it-yourself furniture and played my bagpipes right afterwards. I had triggered some carpal tunnel syndrome issues in the arm immediately after engaging in those activities. So I called you for a treatment.
For the first treatment we focused on the lower arm (forearm and wrist) because that was where the pain was greatest. Experiencing relief from that treatment, after a few days I was able to discern great pain in my upper arm and shoulder. The “onion peel” analogy was definitely appropriate for my situation, as once the lower arm’s pain was gone I could feel what was occurring in the upper arm. So, of course, I scheduled a second treatment about a week after the first.
The second treatment was for the upper arm and shoulder. You honed in on the fact that it was my upper back (trapezius?) muscles that were likely at-play with my shoulder’s pain. So you tackled that area in addition to the shoulder in my second treatment. As always, after the treatment I felt instant relief. Heeding your advice to consume plenty of water and get plenty of rest to truly help the body recover, I finished my day and took it easy that night. It is what happened next that was most fascinating to me.
I became totally exhausted around 9pm that night (the treatment was at 10:30 am earlier that day). It was a kind of exhaustion that I cannot recall experiencing before. It was as if I had run a marathon or engaged is some type of intense physical activity. But I had done no extreme physical exertion that day…or so I thought. In the middle of my exhaustion before I succumbed to it and went to bed I realized I had undergone a tremendous amount of physical exertion…in the form of the acupuncture treatment. I know this is not rocket science to you. But for me this was a revelation.
Even though you have always told me that after an acupuncture treatment that I should be aware that my muscles will be recovering and that I should take it easy, I really felt the exhaustion this time. It truly felt like my body was being detoxified. In hindsight, I was probably feeling the lactic acid exiting my system. I drank another huge cup of water, went to bed, and awoke feeling like a million dollars. Absolutely phenomenal! I thank you for your skills, wisdom, and help. Lander is very lucky to have you and your clinic, AcuHealth! I don’t what I’d do without you! Thank you
